The easiest way not have the engine shut off is to use very light brake pressure when decelerating from 1-2 MPH to a stop. At the time of the stop if the brake pressure is too low, the ISG system will not engage. Another option is to add a control module that will remember and set both the ISG and auto-brake features.
To take advantage of the workaround, one would need to pop the hood (before starting the vehicle), start the car with the hood open, and then shut the hood. It’s not the most ideal scenario, but
Start the car. With the engine running, close the hood. The auto stop function will not activate. You will need to do this with each remote fob. To turn auto start on so it can be controlled by the button on the console do the following: With the car running, OPEN the hood. Turn off the engine.
